The smash hit London musical Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat is returning to the London Palladium for the summer of 2020. Playing for a limited time only, with only 77 performances scheduled from July until September 2020, this is set to be one show you won’t want to miss.

Originally released in 1969 as a concept album, the stage production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat has gone on to become a much-loved, family-friendly musical that has won multiple awards and has been performed in more than 80 countries around the globe.

The storyline is told entirely through song with the help of the iconic Narrator, who follows Jacob’s favourite son, Joseph, along his magical journey which stretches from Israel to Egypt, and from prison to palace as the intrepid hero discovers enlightenment, betrayal and redemption.

The production features all the iconic songs from the original musical score, including ‘Any Dream Will Do’, ‘Close Every Door’, ‘One More Angel in Heaven’ and ‘Go, Go, Go Joseph’.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’s music and lyrics are a collaboration between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The West End show production is directed by Laurence Connor and choreographed by Joann M. Hunter. The show-stopping set and costume designs are the work of Morgan Large.

Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow are set to reprise their roles of the Pharaoh and Joseph following sold out performances from their critically acclaimed and triumphantly successful performances in 2019.

Monday - Tuesday (6th - 14th July) - 7:30pm Wednesday - Saturday (2nd July - end of run) - 7:30pm Wednesday and Saturday matinees (2nd July - end of run) - 2:30pm Sunday matinees (26th July - end of run) - 1:00pm and 5:00pm

Additional Information

Children under the age of three years will not be permitted into the theatre. The London Palladium advises theatregoers that they cannot guarantee the performance of any particular artist as their schedule may change due to unforeseeable circumstances.

The show’s running time is 2 hours - including one interval.

Travel Details

You can find the London Palladium on Argyll St right in the heart of the West End. The theatre can be accessed by Oxford Circus tube station.

The theatre is on main bus routes that run down Oxford St including 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 23, 25, 53, 73, 88, 94, 98, 113, 137, 139 and 159.

If you are travelling by car to the London Palladium be aware the theatre is located within the London Congestion Zone which operates between 7am and 7pm and currently costs £10.00 per day.

Nearest car park is the MasterPark at Poland Street and another on Kingly St. We would always advice theatre-goers to use the excellent transport links that abound in the area.

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is one of the world’s most beloved family musicals. Released as a concept album in 1969, this multi award winning show has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours and productions in over 80 countries! The original Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice collaboration, the show continues to delight huge audiences annually, performed by amateur and schools groups and professionally in concert halls, arenas and theatres around the world. Told entirely through song with the help of the Narrator, the show follows the story of Jacob’s favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. After being sold into slavery by the brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled showman, the Pharaoh. As Joseph strives to resolve Egypt’s famine, he becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunites with his family.
