The Miser the Play Tickets

Garrick Theatre, London

Two-time Olivier Award winner Griff Rhys Jones makes a long-awaited return to the West End stage in Sean Foley and Phil Porter’s adaptation of the rollicking Molière comedy classic The Miser. With further star casting to be announced, Jones leads as the paranoid matchmaker Harpagon, an obsessive fanatic concerned only with protecting his wealth. Through marrying his children to wealthy spouses, Harpagon hopes to deny them the opportunity to filch his fortune. But when true identities – and feelings – come to the fore, will Harpagon allow his children to follow their heart, or force them to bow to his all-consuming love of gold? A rip-roaring comedy by France’s greatest dramatist, and leant a hilariously innovative adaptation by the award-winning Foley and Porter, The Miser promises a brilliant comedy in which passion and purse strings will go head-to-head.
