About The Prince of Wales Theatre
The origins of the Prince of Wales Theatre dates back to the 1880s, but the building as we know it today was built in 1937. The new theatre was designed in an Art Deco style by Robert Cromie and the foundation stone was laid by popular British singer Gracie Fields who sang for the builders!
In 2004, present owner Cameron Mackintosh oversaw extensive changes. This included the theatre auditorium, all front of house foyer spaces and bars being extensively and glamorously expanded, refitted and refurbished
