About the St. Martin's Theatre London

Remarkably, St Martin's Theatre has remained under the same ownership ever since the first foundation stone was laid. Designed by WGR Sprague, the theatre was originally supposed to be paired with the Ambassador's Theatre, constructed in 1913 but the Great War delayed completion. The first production staged at ST. Martin's Theatre was Hoopla in 1916.

Sprague built the theatre for the Willoughby de Broke family and their business partner BA Meyer who ran the theatre from 1916 to 1967. It is still part-owned by the Willoughby de Broke family along with Stephen Waley-Cohen.

Continued family ownership of this historic venue is due in no small part to the record-breaking production The Mousetrap that has helped to cement the future of St Martin's.

Access Information

Patrons with specific access or seating requirements should book with the theatres Box Office directly.

Wheelchair access is via a removable ramp through the main entrance — staff will be available to assist. There are two wheelchair spaces, one in Box C and one in the Dress Circle.

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are permitted in the auditorium and staff can dog sit by prior arrangement. Dogs will be looked after in the manager's office. Please inform the Box Office at the time of booking.

Our assistive listening system operates via radio frequency (RF). The device can be used with either a standard headset or a pendant and is compatible with hearing devices that include a Telecoil (T-coil) feature. The system is available on all three levels of the auditorium.

There is an adapted toilet located on the Dress Circle level. Access is via the entrance on Tower Court.
